From a PDF diet plan to your meal calendar
Already have a food plan and want to organise your week around it? This guide explains how to prepare the text, review the recognised information and connect meals with shopping. It starts with a plan you already have; it does not offer a diet to download.
Read the guideHow it works
Prepare the text
Check that the document text can be selected and copied completely.
Review the result
Compare days, meals, foods and quantities with the original plan.
Organise meals and shopping
Choose calendar slots and check the ingredients you need.
Bring in text rather than uploading a PDF
The current SmartNutriChef import flow accepts pasted diet text, not a direct PDF upload. Copy the days and meals while keeping foods, quantities and units together. Read the pasted text: a two-column table may lose its order. If the PDF is a scanned image with no selectable text, this feature does not perform OCR. Prepare and check a transcription first.
Compare with the original before confirming
Keep the original document nearby and review each day. Check that breakfast, lunch, dinner and other meals have not been swapped or duplicated. Review units and alternatives: two foods offered as a choice should not automatically become two foods to eat together. Do not invent a missing quantity. Correct the recognised result and ask the professional who supplied the plan about unclear instructions.
Place meals in the calendar
Choose which meals from the plan belong in your menu and check the date and meal slot. The calendar organises when to prepare a dish; the diet plan retains its instructions and portions. Moving a meal does not authorise changing those instructions. Check whether an entry links to a recipe in your collection or is a food note. Imported names do not automatically provide complete ingredients and cooking directions.
Build a shopping list you can check
For recipes in your collection, compare ingredients with your pantry. For entries without a recipe, manually complete the shopping you need according to the plan rather than assuming ingredients. Check servings, package sizes and duplicates before buying. Update the pantry after shopping. The public weekly template remains a separate manual tool: it does not import the PDF or read your diet plan in the app.
